    Description

Please see all 10 photos for details of this rare old drum beater that came from an estate sale. It is mostly certainly of Native American origin, maybe Ute, but since it is not signed or marked, I can't list it as such. It is about 14" long with a hand carved notched side and the end is covered in hide, appears to be deer hide. If you rub a stick along the notched side, it makes a neat sound, which changes according to the size of stick you are rubbing it with and the pressure you apply. The more pressure, heavier stick produces a deeper sound. I tested the hide covered end, drum beater, on my hide covered drum and it makes a good deep sound.
